Host manual (Spanish)
Listing, completing your page, answering requests, receiving the deposit, calendars, membership: every feature explained step by step.
Guest manual (Spanish)
Searching, requesting a booking, paying the deposit, what happens next and how to stay safe: the whole journey, from search to stay.
Payments, deposit and price
- Does temporada charge commission?
- No. Listing and booking are free: we don't take a percentage of your bookings. There are optional services (verification, booking backup) paid separately, by bank transfer.
- Is the price I see the final one?
- Yes. What you see is what the host charges, with no fees appearing at the end. The booking backup is paid by the host, not you, so nothing is added to your total.
- How is a booking paid?
- You transfer only the deposit, directly to the host, when they accept your request. The rest you pay on arrival, in person — just like the key handover, which is best done face to face to avoid disputes. The booking is confirmed when the host verifies the deposit cleared: a picture of the receipt isn't enough.
- Why doesn't payment go through the platform?
- So we don't charge you commission or hold your money. It's simpler and more transparent: you arrange the deposit directly with the other person.
Trust and safety
- Why would I trust transferring money to a stranger?
- Because you don't do it blind. Someone from temporada may have gone to the house and verified it's real, the host has a public track record of stays, and with the booking backup they leave a deposit backing yours. You check all of that before transferring a single peso.
- What does it mean for a property to be “verified”?
- That someone from temporada visited it in person and confirmed it's real and matches the listing. It's different from reviews, which guests leave after their stay.
- What is the booking backup?
- A service the host pays for —not you—. If they don't deliver, temporada looks for another equivalent verified house for you and works with them on returning your deposit: the obligation to return it is the host's, the money never passes through temporada. Note: it's not the guarantee that in Uruguay the guest provides (guarantor, deposit, ANDA). Here it's the reverse: the host pays for it to back you.
- What if the house isn't like the photos?
- Say it as soon as you go in. In the first 24 hours we can step in with fresh evidence; if the booking had the backup, we take care of relocating you and of pushing the refund through. After that it's your word against the host's.
Cancellations and disputes
- Can I cancel? Do I get the deposit back?
- The refund follows whatever you agreed. Since you transfer the deposit directly to the host, they make the refund — temporada doesn't hold that money.
- What if there's a problem and we can't agree?
- You open a dispute: we ask both sides for their version and the receipts, we mediate and we leave a record in the public reputation of whoever it concerns. Being clear about the limit: the deposit never passed through temporada, so we can't refund it ourselves. What we can do is mediate and leave the record.
For hosts
- How do I bring my house over from Airbnb?
- You list for free and upload the photos and description you already have. Then you sync your Airbnb or Booking calendar over iCal, so you don't keep two schedules or risk a double booking.
- What is the booking capacity?
- How many confirmed bookings you can hold at once. It starts low and grows with well-rated real stays, or widens with verification and the booking backup. Unlimited capacity is earned with reputation: it isn't bought.
- How much does it cost to verify my property?
- By area, when the team visits your beach town: USD 50, valid for 2 years. Sooner, scheduled (visit within 14 days) or express: USD 150. Paid once, by bank transfer, and free with a booking backup of 7 nights or more. It is not commission: it is an option to give more assurance.
- Can I pause my listing?
- Yes. From your dashboard you pause it whenever you don't want to receive bookings; meanwhile it doesn't show as available.
For local businesses
- How does my business appear on temporada?
- Two ways. You can add it yourself from My business, with opening hours, phone and what you sell. Or it may already be there: restaurants, grills, bakeries, cafés, bars and ice cream shops in the beach towns come from public OpenStreetMap data. For now the catalogue is food and drink only: if yours is another trade, add it from My business.
- My business is listed but I didn’t add it. What is that listing?
- It’s a catalogue listing: name, location and, when they're listed, opening hours and phone. They come from OpenStreetMap, which anyone can correct. There’s no account behind it, so it can’t take orders or reply to the reviews guests leave. The listing says so and invites you to register the business instead.
- How do I register a business that’s already in the catalogue?
- Open the listing and tap “Register your business”. We ask for a temporada account and proof it’s yours: the tax ID (RUT), an invoice in the business’s name or a photo of the premises taken by you. You can also search for it by name from My business before adding it from scratch.
- What happens after I request registration?
- A person reviews it by hand. If we need the invoice or the photo, we ask for it by email. Once approved, the business shows up in your My business panel and the listing becomes yours: the details you correct stay fixed and a catalogue update won’t overwrite them.
- What do I get with an account?
- Your listing with your hours and phone, the option to take orders and bookings through temporada, and a voice to reply to reviews. The first year you pay nothing to be on the map; after that there’s a yearly floor and a fee per delivered order, capped per month. It’s all shown in your panel.
- That place is mine and I don’t want it listed. Will you remove it?
- Yes. Write to hola@temporada.com.uy from an account or email we can link to the business and we’ll hide it from the site.
